Hardest Day
Today began very happy and cheerful but then we went to the Civil Rights Memorial and I witnessed all the names of the people who lost their lives during the movement because of who they are, what they believed in, and how they looked. I became enraged at the stories I read about why these people were murdered. And then I went to a Confederate Cemetery where I realized completely that hatred was still alive and that these people who supported all the things that the confederacy stood for were still around teaching their hate to others. Thus making me even angrier. I could not stand this, the thought that all these people who died to end this hatred and here is this clean ass cemetery with a glossy memorial statue for the monster who created the KKK...my anger cannot be put into words so I must put them into action as my predecessors before me have. I will continue to stand for what is right and I will use this anger to fuel and strengthen my resolve. I will not let hatred win, I will not become consumed by hatred, and I will teach my people to understand why we must stand because people like the one's who carry on and spread hatred will stop at nothing until we are destroyed. I love everyone here with me on this trip and that is from the bottom of my heart.
